Monthly Leadership Circle

Monthly Leadership Circle

This is a space for those of you in leadership positions (supporting groups of people) who want to be with peers exploring how to lead with compassion and grit. This is for folks in non-profits, education, community mental health, activism & organizing, and managers & supervisors. These 75-min circles are meant to be a space of community-building, peer support, some coaching from me, and self-reflection on your leadership.

One of the most challenging parts of being an effective leader, especially in mission-driven organizations and collectives, is balancing being compassionate & trauma-informed while also holding people accountable & setting clear boundaries. Leaders play a strong role in building culture, so we will also reflect on organizational culture-building and best practices for creating sturdy, compassionate, and sustainable cultures.

During these drop-in sessions, I will start with a reflection + a theme for us to explore together. Sometimes the theme emerges from the group during the initial check-in.  Then I will invite some dialogue around the theme, and, when appropriate, we can go into breakout groups for smaller group discussion and brainstorming.

Topics we can cover:

  • trauma-informed leadership
  • how to deal with conflict
  • building resilient cultures
  • authentic inclusivity, diversity, and equity
  • creating cultures of belonging
  • self-reflexive leadership

NOTE: Group size will not exceed 20 people
